Mr. DeShettler and Mr. Dietrich
Mr. DeShettler and Mr. Dietrich receiving the certification award for our pre-engineering program called, “Project Lead the Way.” Congratulations to the students, and Mr. Dietrich and Mr. DeShettler for winning this outstanding honor.
Hilliard City Schools’ teachers and administrators were honored at a ceremony at the University of Akron in which district representatives accepted National Certification in the Project Lead The Way (PLTW) pre-engineering program. Achieving certification status allows Hilliard City Schools’ pre-engineering students to receive college credit for their high school work at universities in Ohio and others such as Purdue, Penn State and Rochester Institute of Technology.
“Our students and teachers have worked very hard to create not only a meaningful learning experience, but a respected and top-notch program,” said Executive Director of K-12 Education Steve Estepp. “We not only have the largest PLTW program in Ohio, but now our students are able to earn college credit for the work they are doing in our classrooms. That will save thousands of dollars for their families and give our students a competitive edge as they enter the next phase of their educational journey.”
